I am already looking at three games this week each with a similar trend.
1) Fresno +21 (UT)... It's at UT, but Fresno does this every year. Hill coaches a masterful offense that should be able to score some points. Not sure the undersized (but fast) Bulldog D will shut down the Vols, but hopefully enough to keep this one close througout and keeping the crowd somewhat subdued.
2) S. Fla +17 (Bama)... Still trying to get some insight on the bulls, but this game reeks of problems for the Tide. Sure they are at home and should be looking to prove something to the home crowd after there miserable summer (see Mike Price lawsuit). They should win this game and they have an excellent defense, but the offense hasn't ever been one to light up the scoreboard (since they beat Miami in the Sugar Bowl a few moons ago). The other factor will be that the Tide has OU on the doorstep the following week and will not want to give away anything, and they surely will not want to risk any injuries. For a program that has had it's share of controversy lately, I will take the points in a hopeful lookahead game. (Barring some REALLY bad news out of SFLa.)
3) Miami -27.5 (LA Tech)... I fall for this every year (usually it's against BYU to open). LA Tech did it to me last year against PSU allowing a 50 spot to be hung on em'. I think Winslow gets 5 TD's in the first half, sits out the second to start his heisman campaign and the Hurricanes win this one by 35 points. I know that is not much more than the current 27.5 point spread, but I see this one moving up over 28 by kickoff (hell, could be by Wed.).
Good Luck to everyone this season, should be a lot of ass kickin' goin' on! (hopefully the Man)
ADDING ON WEEKEND (plus above plays):
OK ST. +7.5 (Neb)... Good QB, great TB, and awesome WR spells trouble for big red. Cowboys outright.
San Jose St. +25(Florida)... Classic look ahead game for the gators w/ Miami looming at the orange bowl. State has a, how should I say this, POTENT offense that Will score on florida. I don't think they win, I'm just saying it's closer than the number.
[iUK -5.5[/i] (Louisville)... New head coach, no Ragone (which is italian for overrated bum quarterback) and a hefty lefty sense of attack for the Wildcats! Better team wins and in this case it's UK.
...along with the already mentioned above SFla and Fresno.
ADDL' Sat Games:
Wake +12 (BC)...Wake option keeps it close.
Aub -3.5 (USC)..Can't go against Cadillac! Baby.
Wash +9 (OSU)... Too many distractions for State
Best of luck, and keep the roll going!
